The plugin is plain JavaScript (ES2020) and registers itself through the public tinymce.PluginManager API. It imports nothing from TinyMCE, so it works with the GPL and the commercial editions alike.
Bootstrap 4
Bootstrap 4 is supported through the bootstrapui_version option. Set it to 4 and the dialogs switch the class names and data attributes that changed between the series (ms-* → ml-*, .btn-close → .close, text-bg-* → badge-*/bg-*, visually-hidden → sr-only, data-bs-toggle → data-toggle) and stop offering what the plugin does not support for version 4.

Migrating existing content: Bootstrap 4 starts a carousel automatically only with data-ride="carousel"; data-ride="true" (the Bootstrap 5 value for autoplay after the first interaction) starts nothing there. When you open such a carousel in the dialog on version 4, the plugin reads it as autoplay Off and saving writes it without data-ride.
Hand-written classes that version 4 does not know are not removed: they stay among the custom classes and are not changed on save.
Bootstrap 4 is end-of-life and is not recommended for new websites. The option exists for existing admin interfaces that cannot migrate yet. Both series are verified in a real browser before every release.
